About

I am a Religious Studies Master's student at the University of Canterbury. My main areas of interest include emergent religious movements, atheism and cyberculture.

My Master's thesis focuses on the connection between the explosion of the New Age in Generations X and Y and the link between this growth and the Internet. I am also investigating popular understandings of science and the use of pseudoscience in the New Age.

My Honours dissertation examined the conflict between the Church of Scientology and the Internet group Anonymous, in which I investigated the similarities and differences between the two groups.

I am fascinated by the social changes that have been facilitated by technologies such as the Internet and mobile phones. In undergraduate I also studied History and Classics, which remains a strong interest.
